AFL Final Series 2010 – Week 1
The 2010 AFL Finals are upon us, Round 22 is over and the matches are as follows.
Geelong take on St Kilda on Friday night in an absolute blockbuster, you would think with recent form that Geelong will easily roll over the Saints – but finals football is a whole other story, so we will need to wait and see. The winner of this match will get a week off and go straight into the preliminary final, whilst the loser will play the winner of the Fremantle/Hawthorn clash on Saturday night, Hawthorn had Fremantle by 120 points over a couple of weeks ago, though Fremantle were well under-manned, this week it sill be a bit more of a task for the Hawks, who managed to beat the minor premiers in Collingwood in round 22, we think the Hawks will get over the line with Luke Hodge coming back into the team, knocking Fremantle out of the finals series.
Saturday night Collingwood take on the Western Bulldogs in the 2nd Qualifying Final, the Bulldogs are in big trouble and they will need a miracle to beat the top of the table Pies next week, Collingwood will win easily and more into a Prelim Final where they could potentional come up against Hawthorn again and perhaps set things straight.
Finishing off this week of finals the 2nd Elimination Final takes place on Sunday between Sydney and Carlton, the Swans have shown a bit in a last bit of the season, after having a rough patch with injury – Carlton on the other hand are still too inconsistant for my liking and will be knocked out of the finals pretty easily by the swans, who will move into the Semi Finals to play the loser of the Collingwood/Bulldogs match.
This is going to be a GREAT Finals Series and I cannot wait for it to get underway – if you are a partial to having a bet, Sportsbet have some of The Best Odds available Weekly on these matches, as well as Odds on the premiership – check out our side bar to the right for odds an click the odds to have a bet.
